Bambinex Swim Nappies are a winner this 2011 Summer

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

The Bambinex Baby Swim Nappy will hit our Aussie beaches and back yard pools this Summer 2011 for the first time.

The Brand Bambinex also make reusable nappies: Bamboo, All In Ones and All In Two’s

The Bambinex Baby Swim Nappy is designed to keep the beach or swimming pool clean. It cleverly holds solids inside the slim fitting swim nappy.

Swim Nappies are not designed to contain wee as holding wee inside a nappy submerged in water would be an invention we are yet to see! But they do hold solids and they are super neat, trim and look just a like a swimmer should.

The Bambinex Baby Swim Nappy is made of:

Inner Part: thin soft polyester/cotton mini loop for super softness

Outer Part: thin polyester jersey with a laminated PU membrane for fast drying time

They come packaged with care instructions and are a great gift idea.

Bambinex Swim Nappies come in 2 sizes: size 1 (5-7 kgs) and size 2 (7-9 kgs)

Available in 3 cool colours; blue, green and yellow.

TIP: Keep an extra Baby Swim Nappy on hand, so you have something to put back on bub if they do “fill their pants”.

We advise to wash the Baby Swim Nappies at 40 degrees with small amount of washing powder and no fabric softener.

BPA FREE Baby Bottles as seen on 60 minutes tonight

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

Tonight on 60 minutes we learnt about BPA Free bottles. Below is the information given to hand thus far from the 60 minutes transcript. More to follow tomorrow:

Remember when we were told that cigarettes were actually good for us?

Then there was that miracle building material – asbestos.

Now, we can add another everyday product to the ‘no go’ list.

Some plastics contain a compound that’s been linked to all kinds of health problems – from cancer and heart disease to obesity and even brain damage.

It’s called Bisphenol A or BPA and the research is so persuasive that many countries have banned it or are phasing it out.

Alarmingly, Australia isn’t one of them.

But that’s not the really frightening part. One of the most common uses of this nasty chemical is making baby bottles.

Story contacts:

Shop for plastics which are “BPA” free.
For more information on plastics – go to the Care 2 Website: www.care2.com

Will provide the full story tomorrow, stay tuned.

  • As of January 2011 Australia’s first Parental Leave Scheme started
  • It will provide eligible working parents with 18 weeks of Parental Leave Pay at the National minimum wage, currently at $570 per week before tax.
  • Paid Parental Leave is fully funded by the Australian Government.
  • It is to be provided within one year of birth, commencing no earlier than the birth

Some of the eligibility requirements are:

  • must be an Australian resident
  • must meet an income test
  • have been engaged in work continuously for a period spanning at least 295 days (around 10 months) of the 392 days (about 13 months) prior to the expected DOB or adoption of the child, and have undertaken at least 330 hours of paid work in the10 month period.
  • the primary carer must not have worked between the DOB or adoption of the child and their nominated start date for parental leave pay
  • the primary career cannot work whilst receiving payment
  • the scheme is available to employees, including casual workers, contractors, and the self-employed.
